It was a volatile day of trade and the market ended in the positive. Sensex closed at 16807, up 28 points and Nifty at 4998, up 8 points from the previous close. CNX Midcap index was up 1.20% and BSE Smallcap index was up 0.32%. The market breadth was positive with advances at 668 against declines of 594 on the NSE.FII sold 479cr equity in todays trading,other Asian exchanges closed higher,we start moving down with news of UK's unexpected drop in GDP(gross domestic product)
To align Indian markets as far as possible with international markets SEBI approved extended trading till 5 p.m
