Sensex closed at 16740, down 70 points and Nifty at 4970, down 27 points from the previous close. CNX Midcap index was down 1.67% and BSE Smallcap index was down 1.36%. The market breadth was negative with advances at 395 against declines of 879 on the NSE.Weak results of PUNJLLOYD taken stock to 215 levels.
